The Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame

Also known as the Philadelphia Hall of Fame, The Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame Foundation was founded in May 2002.  A Pennsylvania 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, our mission, in brief, is to develop a sports hall of fame for Philadelphia as a means to preserve and promote the rich history of Philadelphia sports. Ultimately, we will build a museum in the city to honor our sports history.

In addition to the museum, the Foundation will celebrate our sports history through community programs.  Through programs like youth scholarships, essay contests, sports camps for underprivileged kids, and internships for needy college students, we can begin this process immediately.  To that end, each applicant for a scholarship or internship and all sports camp attendees will be required to submit an essay on a historical Philadelphia sports icon or team, including Hall of Fame inductees.  This one-of -a-kind proposition will support our vision of enlightening Philadelphia area youth about Philadelphia's wonderful sports history.
